Start with pitch. Mainstream FPC pitches include 0.3mm, 0.5mm, 0.8mm and 1.0mm: smaller pitches deliver higher density but demand tighter placement accuracy.
Next is mounting height. Ultra-thin devices typically use low-profile H0.9mm–H1.2mm products, while applications needing stronger mating force can use H2.0mm and above.
Finally, contact direction. Top contact makes the cable easier to inspect; bottom contact helps slim down the device; back-flip structures perform better against vibration.
